Position Statement:

A firm believer in the value of professional organizations, it would be an honor to serve as President of NJLA and give back to the association that helped me develop into an engaged and active member of not only NJLA but ALA through my work in the division of ACRL.

In this era of transformation and fiscal restraint, all libraries, regardless of type, are facing considerable difficulties and helping to make NJLA a stronger voice for all librarians and library staff would be a priority. Having a vibrant and robust professional organization at the state level is essential to helping the library community confront existing challenges while also anticipating future needs. Continuing initiatives already in place, such as promoting professional development, collaboration and the exchange of ideas among existing library organizations in the state, would also remain a primary focus during my tenure.

My professional experiences, combined with my demonstrated commitment to serving library organizations makes me an ideal candidate for President of NJLA and I welcome the opportunity to serve in this capacity. Thank you for your consideration.
