Professional Development Meeting Dates 2013-2014

Welcome to the NJLA Professional Development Committee! We anticipate another busy year; with 2 or 3 micro-conferences and presentations at the NJLA Conference in Atlantic City. Your participation is very important to us and we hope you be able to join us for monthly meetings. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 18 at 2pm at the Logan Branch of Gloucester County Library System. 498 Beckett Road, Logan Township, NJ 08085 http://www.gcls.org/locations/logan-township-branch/directions    Phone 856-241-0202. The meeting will run about 1 ½ hour. .

FUNCTIONS:

• To identify the professional development needs of the Association.
• To develop opportunities for professional growth and networking, either within the Committee or by working with other Sections, Committees and Ad Hoc Committees.
• To develop core competencies for the profession, and to work with committees and sections to develop additional competencies.
• To promote the benefits of professional development and to inform the membership of opportunities available to them.
• To coordinate the activities of the Conference Subcommittees, the Leadership and Education Subcommittee, and all other subcommittees and ad-hoc committees under this committee.
