The NJLA History & Preservation Section will be presenting a
workshop for new archivists and special collections librarians: Archival Basics for Librarians, scheduled on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Pane Room of Alexander Library at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Participants will become familiar with several types of basic repairs for collections materials in public, school and academic libraries. Tip-ins and basic page repairs, hinge tightening, and a variety of spine repairs will be demonstrated. Examples of protective treatments for special collections materials will be covered.
