The update on our writer’s guidelines and proofreading guidelines has been completed (thank you to those who contributed!) and all newsletter-related documents have been moved to the njlamembers.org Drupal page under Member Communications.
-
Mary Marks has resigned from the committee but Richetta Wilson Lobban has volunteered to take over Mary’s People & Places feature in the newsletter. For now, Megan will maintain the Constant Contact list and send out the email blasts, but if another committee member is willing to take that over, please contact Megan.

Next Steps for the Directory/ Moving to Drupal
We have set a date for the end of the Wiki – February 1st. All units will need to have migrated to Drupal by that date. I will be sending out a message to all committees/sections/roundtables to make them aware of this. Also, I’ll be asking them to contact James if they need assistance, I’ll be asking that they check the website to make sure their information is correct, and I’ll be following up on the social media/publications that they submitted for the directory to see if there have been any updates. Once I have all of the directory information in order, Samantha Baird, our Rutgers student intern, will compile it and work with James to get it on the website.
NJLA Program
We will be submitting a program proposal to the NJLA Conference Committee on reaching out to your community using library newsletters. Kate and Megan have taken the lead on this and have been fleshing out some ideas. Since many libraries are making the transition from paper to e-newsletters, we thought this would be a good time to talk about different software options (some free!) and maybe even writing tips, etc. Proposals are due next week, so we’ll see how it goes.
Ways to Promote the NJLA conference
Next meeting: Will be scheduled after the NJLA conference. Claire or I will notify committee members of date and location.
