Notice of Bylaw Changes Resulting from Biennial Review

The Constitution and Bylaws Committee has completed its biennial review of the bylaws and recommended changes to be voted on by membership at our May 20, 2021 meeting. 

Changes address the following issues:

Recognizing the current practices of the Professional Development Coordinator position:

* Article II, Section A (appointed by President).

* Article V, Section A (role in assisting the Executive Board with membership meetings and other activities).

* Article VI, Section A.2 (mandatory member of Program Committee).

 

Specifying and unifying language for what happens when a Vice President/President-Elect ascends to President in a non-traditional way:

* Article II, Section B (appointment case and resignation of existing President case).

 

Miscellaneous Updates:

* Article II, Section C (facilitate secretary's responsibility for distributing membership list).

* Article II, Section E (separate out individual points).

* Article IV, Section A (remove outdated practice).

* Article V, Section A (acknowledge new meeting technology and virtual meeting practices).

* Article VIII, Section A (capitalize listserv name).
