Notice of Bylaw Changes Resulting from Biennial Review

The History & Preservation Section Constitution and Bylaws Committee has completed its biennial review of the bylaws and recommended changes to be voted on by membership at our June 1, 2023 meeting.

Proposed changes address the following issues:

*Recognizing that the work of the H&P Section Archives has shifted from establishing to maintaining it.

*Reorganizing the meeting discussion to clarify meeting types, add NJLA minimum guidelines, and recognize greater meeting access afforded by virtual technologies.

*Match bylaws language to NJLA Archives & History Subcommittee’s composition statement.

*Remove a publishing obligation in The Chronicle that cannot always be scheduled.

For details on specific changes proposed and where they appear in bylaws, please refer to the following attachments at the end of this announcement.
