2017 - 2018 Member at Large Candidate - Sarah Lester
Sarah Lester, Director, Maplewood Memorial Library
NJLA Experience:
Public Policy Committee, 2015 - present
Statement:
I have had the great opportunity of working in public libraries that have transformed, elevated and celebrated their communities. Throughout my career in New Jersey, California and New York I've been mentored by the best in our profession and have worked with many talented library staff. Since moving to New Jersey in 2006, I have relied on the professional support of NJLA and have attended many valuable NJLA sponsored programs, conferences and events. I have "used" the services of NJLA, and until very recently have not participated in the Association. Through my involvement in the NJLA Public Policy Committee I've seen first hand the effectiveness of legislation and advocacy. Now, more than ever, its time to get more involved. I look forward to to doing so as a Member-at-Large.
